Lord of the Rings By Richard Bricknall Tolkien Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantastic book, or should I say trilogy or even quadrilogy. He sucks you in with the story of Bilbo and then blows your mind with a succesion of exciting adventures. The combination of princes, elves. dwarfs, goblins and wizards is the thing kids dream of and men wish were true. This is a set of books my children will start reading soon. I will start with Bilbo to introduce them to the likeable hobbit characters and then let them progress themselves through the triliogy. I remember the first time I read the book. It was in one huge paperback version containing all three adventures. It took me over two weeks to read, reading several hours a day. I just could not put it down. When I had read the book I loaned it to a girlfriend to read on a long bus journey she was going on. I never saw her or the book again. What a loss! The book that is!
